Speckled Karatsu Rectangular Plate (a set of five)
Vessels made of earthy Karatsu clay and covered with a glaze made of rice straw ashes are called Speckled Karatsu (Madaragaratsu).
It is named after blue and light blue speckles on the white surface.
In order to express the earthiness of the clay, the rim is finished as if the clay were torn off.
